Venice, Italy. Every woman had a fur coat. Purses ALWAYS match shoes. Fashion is taken seriously.
I was in Italy in 2000. It was a pilgrimage for a Jubilee year. Pilgrims could travel to dedicated to special churches, pray and work off purgatory time. I tried on my city-self. Heels. Blonde highlighted hair. Oogling over designer window eye candy. At the time, I would go visit my favorite window display at Ferragamo - the mannequin had a Fairy Tale level skirt made from a rainbow of silk scarves. The dress billow3ed out from the waistband.
My parents allowe dme to buy it as a souvenir. The scarf was the most beautiful shade of green sage with the silver sheen of silk.
After I returned home, I became Black Pants Girl again - with Italian leather heels and the green scarf tucked into my pea coat.
I hated Venice. Disliked the feel of the city. Plus the biting cold of the Winter and the chill of the water was no help.
Frizzante is one of my favorite words in Italian = bubble water.
